Welcome to the Secure Auto Shipping FAQ page. We’ve compiled answers to the most common car shipping questions to help you better understand the process and what makes us a top-rated auto transport company. Whether you’re shipping a vehicle across the country or to a nearby state, our goal is to make the experience smooth, transparent, and stress-free.
Absolutely. Every carrier we work with is fully insured, and we provide a copy of the carrier’s insurance at the time of dispatch for your peace of mind. You’ll always have access to the carrier’s insurance details before your vehicle is picked up.
No. We never charge a deposit until a carrier is secured and confirmed for your shipment. You won’t pay us a dime until we provide you with the driver’s name, contact number, and insurance information.
Yes. Most of our carriers now offer real-time GPS tracking upon request. If tracking isn’t available on a particular shipment, our 24/7 dispatch team is always here to provide updates. At the very least, you’ll have full access to the carrier’s contact information for direct communication.
We don’t use random drivers from load boards. Secure Auto Shipping relies on an exclusive network of vetted carriers who’ve passed rigorous background checks, maintain high safety ratings, and provide valid documentation. We take safety seriously and only partner with professional, reliable transporters.
Vehicle transport pricing depends on several factors, including:
Route and distance
Time of year (seasonal demand)
Fuel prices
Vehicle size and weight
Location accessibility (rural vs. metro)
We also price match 5-star rated brokers or carriers, and there are no hidden fees. Our quotes are fully transparent, with no surprises.
Once you’re happy with the price, simply confirm the pickup and delivery details with us. There’s no setup deposit. Our dispatch team then begins working to match your shipment with the best available carrier. Once assigned, you’ll receive full details on your driver, and only then will payment be requested.
Transit time depends on the route and driver availability. Generally:
Short distances (under 500 miles): 1–3 days
Medium distances (500–1,000 miles): 2–5 days
Cross-country: 5–10 days
Keep in mind, unforeseen factors like weather or traffic can affect timelines, but we keep you updated throughout the process.
You can cancel anytime before a driver is assigned at no cost. If a carrier has already been dispatched and you decide to cancel, there may be a small cancellation fee to cover driver logistics. We’re flexible and always aim to be fair.
Some carriers allow a small amount of personal belongings (usually under 100 lbs) in the trunk. However, we recommend keeping it minimal, as extra weight can affect pricing and compliance with DOT regulations.
